My11 month old daughter who has allergy induced asthma but very rarely needs breathing treatments was having cough attacks, runny nose, fever, trouble breathing, wheezing, etc so when she wasn’t getting better i took her to the ER last night.. They examined her and took x rays of her chest.. After being there for 4 hours and having to repeat the x rays twice the doctor told me that they didn’t find pneumonia they found an enlarged heart.. They didnt believe it had anything to do with her bronchitis but felt we were lucky to find it this way.. She is nearly 1 yr old, 27lbs(she’s a chubby girl), walking since 9 months, very active, and has never shown signs of anything serious. Her blood pressure at the ER while holding completely still was 144/99.. I’m very worried and am unable to contact her doctor till Monday. Can anyone give me any information? Also, they perscribed her antibiotics, atrovent for her breathing machine, a steroid, an anti inflamatory, and Lortab.. I don’t understand the need for all of these meds especially a narcodic in an infant. Please help.

i did every over the counter, cough medicine, and z packs….
now im gona do asthma test and allergy test…
does it sound to you like it could be allergy or asthma? and what are the treatments involved….

My partner and i have just moved into the home of our dreams, but one major problem has arisen. Since moving in my bf has been having very serious allergy problems, he has had to be hospitalised at least once a week since moving here and the doctors have him on both anti histamines and steroids. Due to the prolonged use and high dose of the steroids the Drs have said he needs to come off them, but the allergy is putting a huge strain on his heart and white blood cell count is extreemly high.
We live in rented accomodation so cant change the carpets as they are very very expensive and dont think landlord would allow us to replace them with a cheaper alternative.
I am hoovering regularly and this does help but he is still very very uncomfortable and he is still very dependant upon the steroids, without them he will certainly end up back in hospital.
Does anyone know of a spray or simular treatment to prevent the wool particles from leaving the carpet? or a way to stop them from getting in the air.
We have 7 kids between us and they are constantly running about, which i think is kicking up more particles into the air etc.
Any help or advice would be gratefully recieved.

Looking for REAL people who did this treatment and had results.
Or if you did and it didn’t work, please share your personal experience.
I did my first session and I got tell you, it looks like a SCAM. But, if you have allergies (nasal/cats/dust) you know how desperate It can be.
I feel this treatment is one step before those religious cures, you know, when in one church session they cure 5 people from cancer, 3 from AIDS and a couple of paralytics start walking again, you know, that kind of thing.
(By the way, I don’t mean anything bad here, so just disregard if this bother you somehow, i’m sorry).
So just looking for some real people (not practitioners) that was submitted to the treatment.
THANK YOU!

I have recently had MRSA, and was on a sulfa medication. Thankfully, my MRSA cleared up, but unfortunately, I developed and allergy to sulfa medication. My MRSA is gone, but these hives are itchy and blotchy. I went to the doctor’s twice, they put me on Benedryl. The Benedryl didn’t help at all, so they put me on steroids and caplets. I missed school the last two days because I look like a monster from hell. Does anyone know any faster ways to get rid of hives?

I recenty bought a horse who had mites in her ears. After manual extraction, the ears got infected and is now oozing purulent discharge. I would like to give amoxycillin with gentamycin injectable but I am apprehensive that the horse might be allergic to the anitbiotic. Dores anyone know how much to give as a trial dose? and should the horse develop any allergy, is diphenhydramine or epinephrine preferable as treatment?
Thanks

I’ve just put my dog on cortizone for his allergies on my vets advice, but i don’t like the side effects they seem to be having. He is drinking A LOT, and has to pee every half hour (sometimes he doesn’t even make it outside which has never happened before). His coat has gone very dry and lost its shine, and he generally seems miserable. All he wants to do is sleep all day whereas normally he’s a very hyperactive crazy dog! I want to stop the pills but I was wondering if the side effects will go away and if I should wait it out a bit longer. He’s been on them for a week, started on 2 tablets a day and is now down to 1 a day and due to go down to half a day or every 2 days soon. Are these side effects normal and will they last as long as he’s on the cortizone?
Also, I was wondering what other alternative treatments there might be. I know omega and fatty acids are supposed to be good, but where do i get them? Are there special foods or do they come in pills or what?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
